How to Roll Hair

If you want curly hair for a day or two, learning how to roll it will give you enviable curls. It may seem awkward if you've never rolled your hair before, but this is a beauty service almost anyone can perform. You'll need a few materials on hand and after you've rolled your hair a few times, you'll become more comfortable and proficient at doing it.

Instructions

Separate your hair into four sections with the end of your rat tail comb. Hold the hair that you're not working on out of the way with hair clips.

Begin at the nape of your neck, starting with a section of hair about one to two inches wide.

Place the roller at the end of the hair and underneath it. Roll it under, keeping a steady tension on the hair as you roll so that it stays smooth.

Roll the roller all the way to your scalp, affixing it with the attached closure if there is one or using flat hair clips or hair pins to hold it in place.

Repeat steps three and four for one to two inch sections of hair all over your head. It's easier to begin at the back of your hair and work your way to the front.

Roll the hair overhand if you want it to flip up and out. You can also roll it sideways for another curl direction.
