Lace wig density is simply how thick or thin the hair is. The density scale ranges from 50 percent to 180 percent, with 180 percent being the densest.

A lace wig's density number represents how much thicker the wig hair is than human hair. For instance, a lace wig density of 160 percent is 160 percent thicker than normal human hair.

The average lace wig density is 130 percent, providing a medium density.

Lace wig density depends on the hair's color, length, wave, and curl. The density can be adjusted for specific areas on the wig.

The two types of lace most often used in making wigs are French lace, which is heavier and more durable; and Swiss lace, which is much thinner, less detectable, and less durable.
